The Tartan Pimpernel is Caskie’s account of his courageous adventures in war-torn Europe. A native of Islay, Caskie was minister of the Scots Kirk in Paris at the time of the German invasion in 1940. After establishing a network of safe houses and escape routes for Allied troops, he was arrested and sentenced to death before being saved by a German pastor. This inspiring book illustrates the bravery of a man with a selfless commitment to others.
