Description
The Whisky Distilleries of the UK. During the 1880s, Barnard, the secretary of Harper’s Weekly Gazette, visited 150 distilleries in Scotland, England and Ireland, in order to write descriptions for the journal. These were then collected into a book which has been republished in its nineteenth century format. The book has colourful accounts of Barnard’s journeys as well as detailed descriptions of each distillery (including 10 on Islay and Jura) and over 200 engravings.
